A landscape of materials

Gnist brings Aker BP and Aker Solutions together in two new office buildings in Hinna Park, Stavanger. Designed for around 3,000 employees, the workplace combines areas for individual focus, collaboration and social activity. Kvadrat Really Textile Tabletop™ form part of a considered material palette that connects circular thinking with everyday use.

The Textile Tabletop™ form part of the material palette across Gnist, bringing a distinct surface and tactile character to the workplace. Their use complements wood, stone and soft textiles throughout the interior, creating a considered dialogue between different materials and functions.

Zinc developed the interior around principles of biophilic design, using material, colour and light to strengthen the connection with nature. The surrounding landscape of Gandsfjorden and the nearby mountains informs the colour concept. Muted earth tones define the East building, while warm greens characterise the West, with gradual transitions from light to dark across both.

Kvadrat textiles add softness and variation to this material landscape. Curtains in Daybreak, Maya and Time 300 introduce layers of colour and texture, while seating upholstered in Fiord 2, Remix 3, Re-wool 2 and Savanna supports different work and social settings. Kvadrat Shade roller blinds form a separate layer at the windows, providing control over daylight.

Together, tabletops, textiles and other interior materials create contrasts between soft and solid surfaces, and between colour and texture. This material approach gives the two buildings their own character while creating a coherent experience across Gnist.
